The Adventures of
St. Joseph Catholic School
Re-Opening Plans for 2020-21
St. Joseph is committed to the safety and well-being of our students. The Oregon Department of Education in coordination with the Oregon Health Authority, as well as the Archdiocese of Portland have all put out requirements that address the health and safety of having students back in the classroom. We are in the process of applying them directly to our building. Most of those documents have been completed, and have been added here.
There are still some unknowns right now, and we expect additional versions of these protocols from the state to be published this summer. Some issues won't be settled until mid- to late-August. Many things are dependent on the restrictions that will be in place in September in Marion County. We will do what we can to keep you as updated as possible. Complete protocol pages will be posted here, and updates will always be found in SchoolSpeak. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Remember, the building protocols are in place because we want to keep kids in school! Kids learn best when they're HERE. Please help us to do everything that we can to follow all of the rules!
If one student becomes contagious, we want it to be as limited as possible. Your students need to understand the importance of staying in their classroom, and not wandering around the building.
If it turns out we can't be together in the building, then we need to make our BEST EFFORTS to create an educational, supportive connection for all-day online school together.
